The "Royale" Treatment

WLA Studio’s Keyes Williamson recently completed fieldwork at Isle Royale National Park, located in Lake Superior. This rugged isolated island is accessible only by boat or seaplane (see video of touchdown here). WLA is partnering with experts from Seven Generations Architecture + Engineering, RATIO Architects, HF Lenz, and Lawson Elser Engineers to complete the project. The team documented existing conditions at the building and the surrounding historic landscape. Keyes visited park archives at Keweenaw National Historical Park—this research will inform the final document. Read more about the project here.
